Step 1: Download Tiktok, and get familiar with the tools

Install the app and create an Account. You can then create a new video either by starting from scratch or by uploading one from your camera roll. To begin, tap on the Create Video icon. Next, select from a variety of recording tools and effects located on the right and bottom sides of the screen.

TikTok offers several video editing tools, including the flip option that allows you to shoot with your rear-facing or front-facing camera. You can speed up or slow down the recording. This beauty tool conceals any blemishes on your skin and gives you an “airbrushed” appearance. You can also choose from many filters that can be applied either before or after the recording. Select the filters button to apply filters. Swipe left to view previews. TikTok has filters that can be categorized as Landscape, Food, Vibe, and Portrait.

If you prefer to film hands-free, the Timer button lets you set an auto-record countdown. You can also choose how many videos you want to capture at one time.

You can only use the Flash icon to capture the front-facing camera.

You can also press the Back button to the right of your record button if you’re not satisfied with the segment. The next step is to confirm that you want to delete the previous segment. Click Confirm if you wish to continue.

After you have finished recording your segments, click the checkmark. This will take you to TikTok’s video editor. You will find Filters, Adjust clips, Voice Effects, and Voiceover on the right-hand corner of your screen.

Select Adjust Clips to rearrange your clips or trim a clip. If you have only one continuous clip, the Trim button can be used for cutting down your video.

Video audio can include voice effects like Chipmunk and Baritone as well as Shake and Electronic. Voiceover can be used as your audio. You can adjust the volume if you add sound or music to your video. The volume will be displayed under “added sound”. This can make the volume louder or less than your original sound. You can also choose to put your original sound or increase the volume of the added sound.
